Dear First Church Family,

Thank you for all your words of encouragement, hugs, smiles, and laughter as I attempted to take on the stewardship campaign this year. I pray that you laughed and learned as we opened God’s word together to discern His heart regarding our tithes and offerings.

As we are reaching the close of this campaign, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our journey. We talked about tithing as a reflection of Gods’ goodness. We also talked about how tithing is not about money, but about our hearts. We talked about the fact that tithing is a spiritual discipline and might take practice and improve over time. I would like to encourage each one of us to prayerfully search our own heart to decide what that looks like this year as we approach commitment time.

Our church uses our gifts and offerings to further Gods kingdom in our community and beyond. Your gifts and support allow this spiritual home to be a refuge for all. We ask that you pray with intent and thoughtfulness on how God would have you support your church home this year.

To all our faithful tithers, thank you for your continued gifts and support. To all who might be unsure or on the fence, remember that you can start small and work up to the tithe that God calls us to give. Remember our focal scripture from Malachi chapter 3, verse 10. It says “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. God welcomes us who are unsure with His love and grace, reminding us of his wonderful promise. “Test me”, he says, and watch what he does with your sacrifice. The video this past weeks reminds us that God takes our little and does much, and with our much he does MUCH MORE! Each of us can give something. Remember, it is not the amount that matters God. He is not after your money, but your heart.

Thank you all for allowing me to grow with you this stewardship season. I am excited by what God has done, and is getting ready to do for our church, our community, and our world. To God be all the glory!
